Policies

  1. At PET S2DO we train you to train your dog.
  2. We strive to help you create a common language that will allow you and your dog to continue having fun in a healthy, productive relationship.
  3. Our trainers will demonstrate the whole process and lead you in to repeating that process until the skills are learned by you and your dog.
  4. We train at the pace of your dog's learning ability, keeping the lessons fun and engaging and not delaying the process for reasons of curriculum.
  5. PET S2DO will try to leave the class always in an upbeat place, for that reason classes are about 45 minutes.
  6.  If any issues arise during the class, and your dog is not cooperative or engaging, we will try our best to help you bring it to the "good side."
  7. Dogs are not machines; they do not understand time and they are entitled to have a day off.
  8. As per our system, and due to the dog remaining in your household, you are solely responsible for practicing the lessons and continuing to work with your dog.
  9. You should practice at least 3 times per day for not less of 5 minutes and no more than 15 minutes.
  10. PET S2DO recommends that you use the learned commands as a part of your dog's everyday handling routine.
  11. Consistency is a must to achieve optimal results.
  12. The trainer will be available to clarify any doubts you might have.
  13. Some programs may require lessons to be held in a public, high-distraction area.
  14. As the handler you are solely responsible of the well-being of your dog.
  15. Your dog must have all their veterinary records up to date before starting any class.
  16. If you want to have the AKC certifications for the Canine Good Citizen program, your dog must be register with the AKC, either in their official registry or the PAL registry.
